Mr. Burke (Jim) is a 1987 graduate of Louisiana State University Law School. After graduating from law school, Jim worked as an Assistant District Attorney. Jim quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the four Section Chiefs of the Office. As Section Chief, Jim supervised other attorneys and only prosecuted high-grade felonies such as murder and rape.

Jim left the District Attorneys Office after five years as he was offered employment at an Insurance Defense Firm. Realizing criminal law was his true passion, Jim left the Insurance Defense Firm after two years and he has been practicing criminal law in St. Tammany ever since.
As a criminal defense attorney in St. Tammany, Jim has successfully defended clients arrested for murder, rape, child molestation, child pornography, drug offenses, DWI as well as numerous other criminal charges.
